What has this world become.
Born roughly four decades ago, I remember things
were much simpler back then, not that we were against the test of time, but definitely
more forbearing.
Times were easier, technology was scarce but contentment
was in abundance.
Born in a joint family, raised among seven
other kids in limited resources, what we’ve gathered from our experiences is
enough to fuel generations. But the question is what world are we giving to our
children? Is it the world enough?
Where is tolerance? There is Ego. Where is joy?
There is disgruntlement. Where is acceptance? People are hypercritical. Where
is love? Oh! let’s not even go there!
From climate change to scams, from AI to Donald
Trump, from Russia to Hamas, we were striding in reasonably but now it’s
getting intense.
Being an Indian, we automatically have feelings
for Pakistan (pun intended!) but it’s overwhelming now as I see the fourth or
maybe the fifth Indo-Pak tiff (it’s not a full-fledged war yet!)
What bothers me more is the kind of people we
have around us, who don’t comprehend the enormity of the situation and
irrespective of their limited geo political understanding, are spreading fake
news like wildfire, stimulating misinformation and deepening public confusion
along both sides of the border.
The social media is flooded with memes, content
creators are tirelessly rolling in, I see some are using the tragedy to fill in
the social media profiles!
I hope Elon Musk’s dream of colonizing Mars singles
them out!
Note: This is not a piece of art, it’s
just a rant!
